About the Author

Carol Press is a dancer, choreographer, writer and teacher.

She earned her doctorate of education from Columbia University Teachers College in interdisciplinary studies between dance education and clinical psychology.

Her masters of arts in dance/choreography is from the University of California, Los Angeles.



She is published nationally in dance and internationally in psychoanalysis. She teaches Dance History at Santa Barbara City College and is a dance artist-in-residence for the Santa Barbara County Schools in California.

She facilitates workshops for teachers, college students, and psychoanalysts on creativity and has worked for the National Dance Education Organization.

Most importantly, she loves to dance.
